We’re excited to welcome back the Columbia Writers’ Guild for the next installment of their quarterly reading series on February 6, at 6:00 p.m.

Come and listen to these fabulous local writers read and discuss their work!

Terry Allen is an Emeritus Professor of Theatre Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he taught acting, directing and playwriting. His poems have appeared in many journals and he is the author of the chapbook Monsters in the Rain.

Virginia Lee is a romance writer who has taken time off from writing to raise her family and is now returning to her love of creating stories. She’ll be reading a selection from one of her earlier romances, The Rivals, published by Jove.

Victoria Hubbell has written two books on Missouri history. She retired from teaching Composition and Literature at Stephens College in 2015.

Joe Polacco a native of Brooklyn, is Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry at MU and the winner of two Fulbright Awards.  He is lovingly known as the “Poet Laureate of Biochemistry”. Upon retirement, he has devoted time to more serious writing.

Barbara Leonhard is a retired Instructor of English as a Second Language.  She now devotes more time to her poetry, which focuses on the metaphysical, metaphorical, and mystical. Find her work on www.extraordinarysunshineweaver.blog.

Nancy Jo Allen a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, now lives in Columbia, with her husband Terry and their pup Jayden. Her photos, fiction, and poetry are published in various journals both nationally and internationally including Well Versed,* 82 Review, Dime Show Review, Interpretations, Third Wednesday, Firewords, Ancient Paths, Common Ground, Down in the Dirt, and this coming fall I-70 Review.
